Healthy Snack Ideas for Fitness Routine

Whether we are following any diet plan or not, we all crave for snacks. While watching movies, relaxing, listening to music, and between meals, we want snacks. 

What if you can eat those snacks to satisfy your cravings and also stay on your fitness goal?

We will talk about some healthy snack ideas which won't affect your diet plan. You can easily include these in between your meals to satisfy the cravings as well as stay on track. 

These contain both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. I am going to list some options which are super easy to prepare, healthy, and delicious at the same time. So, let's get started!

As you can see in the image above, it was made by me. It tastes yum and is healthy too as it is prepared in very low oil. It can be a very good snack option for the vegetarians because paneer is very rich in protein. 

I recommend including paneer in their diet to my every vegetarian friends. I know it contains fat, but you guys have to fulfill the protein requirements from some of the other sources as you don't eat eggs or chicken. 

So paneer is such an option in our healthy snack ideas list, thus cannot be ignored.

200 gms paneer

  1. Heat the pan and put very little oil on it using a brush.
  2. Add the onions, capsicums and tomatoes and stir them for a while until golden brown.
  3. Add the paneer cubes and the spices listed above according to taste preferences.
  4. Serve.

CHICKEN NUGGETS SANDWICH (Vegetarians can replace nuggets with paneer)

We all love sandwiches as a snack. We eat different types of sandwiches, be it cheese sandwich or veg sandwich. This one is going to be a chicken nuggets sandwich, delicious along with easy to include in our healthy snack ideas list.

Chicken nuggets, frozen ones
Whole wheat bread
Mint mayo (or any spread of your own choice)

  1. Heat the nonstick pan and apply a little oil on it with a brush. Don't use too much oil.
  2. When the oil heats, add nuggets to it.
  3. Keep flipping them using a tong and cook for 5-7 minutes until golden brown. Let them cool down.
  4. Bake the bread by heating them a little. Then apply the mint mayo on the bread slices.
  5. Put the chopped onions on the slices and then put the nuggets. 
  6. That's all, the sandwiches are ready. Serve them with ketchup or any other sauce of preference.

Every non-vegetarian person loves omelet. But, we often get bored eating the simple omelet. This cheese omelet snack recipe will leave you licking fingers. 

It is high in protein, which comes from the cheese and the eggs, making it stick in our list of healthy snack ideas.

Eggs x 4
Finely chopped veggies (onions, capsicums, tomatoes, coriander)
Cheese cubes x 2

  1. Add 2 whole eggs and 2 egg whites into a bowl. Add salt, turmeric, red chilli powder to it.
  2. Beat the eggs until smooth.
  3. Heat the pan and add oil to it using a brush.
  4. Pour the egg mix to the pan and add the veggies on top of it evenly.
  5. When cooked one side, flip it and cook the other one.
  6. Add the cheese cubes by grating them on the omelette while on the pan. Let it melt. Then, fold it once.
  7. Your cheese omelette is ready.

It is one of the easiest healthy snack ideas for work to make, and tastes good too. You can cook it and flavor it according to your taste choice with some spices or seasonings. 

We often buy sweet corn at malls and cafes, but they are very high in fat as they add too much butter and oils to make it tasty. We will try to make it healthy along with tasty, as after all, no compromise on our fitness goals.

  1. Boil the sweet corn in a deep pan with water over medium flame.
  2. Add some salt in it.
  3. When boiled, add some chaat masala and any spice you want.

Chickpeas are one of the best healthy snack ideas for work to get vegetarian protein. It can prove to be a great snacks option if you try out this recipe. 

It's super easy and delicious, both at the same time. You can cook it in minutes and it will be high in protein due to the presence of chickpeas.


  1. Just boil some chickpeas.
  2. Add chopped vegetables like onion, cucumber, tomatoes. Squeeze some lemon on top.
  3. Now, season it with oregano or black pepper.
